Guns Are Rattlesnakes Pennsylvania Law Clarified As of June 25, 2007: Until recently, there has been confusion about Pennsylvania's recognition of the validity of a Non-Resident Florida CCW Permit. Just recently, the PA State Police and the PA Attorney General's Office have clarified their positions on this matter. The Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Pennsylvania State Police have recently declared that Pennsylvania will recognize any valid Concealed Firearms Permit from any state with which the Commonwealth of PA has a reciprocity agreement regardless of the license/permit holder's state of residence. Florida and Virginia are two of the states with which Pennsylvania has reciprocity agreements. "
Note: It has come to the attention of the Office of
Attorney General that there has been confusion over the applicability of
Pennsylvania's reciprocal privileges with regard to the residency status of
an individual who has been issued a valid license/permit. It is the position
of the Office of Attorney General that recognition within Pennsylvania is
based on the issuance to an individual of a valid license/permit by the
reciprocal contracting state, and not on the license/permit holder's place
of residence."
